As you probably already know, every day's a national "Something" day, like National Pizza Day or National Kite Flying Day.
Well, today is a national day for something you probably can't live without: your computer.
Which is why we are taking a look at ways to make sure your devices return to peak performance.
Today's the day set aside for your devices and the real reason why they may be moving, so slowly.
Lifewire.com's Editor in Chief, Lance Ulanoff says, "This day is about taking control of...not just with your computers but with your phones too because we use them just the way we use our computers."
Taking control on National 'Clean Out Your Computer' Day means cleaning out what should've been cleaned out years ago.
Sr. Tech Reporter with Consumer Reports, Nicholas De Leon says, "For most folks its going to be multi media files: photos, videos, maybe old mp3 that you downloaded in the day."
Files that are memorable, just not currently meaningful.
"If you have a computer and you use it for everything and stuff will just accumulate in folders all over the place," says De Leon.
Folders of not just videos, photos and music but documents and downloads.
Ulanoff says, "People download a lot of stuff off the internet and it just sits there in this one big folder - taking up enormous amounts of space."
Getting rid doesn't necessarily mean deleting forever, just moving it to an external hard-drive or one of those USB storage sticks.
Adam Oman with ThePhotostick says, "There's a little shortcut on the USB stick and you double click on that and then it launches and it'll find all your photos and then copy them to the USB stick."
And when cleaning out your computer, don't forget to empty the recycle or trash bin.
And be sure to take the time to clean the outside of your computer and phone as well.
Canned air will help remove the gunk in your keyboard and special wipes are available to clean your screens.
