Name: Kory Wiegert
Parents: Karri and Kevin Wiegert
School: Mishicot High School
Year: Senior
What extracurricular activities have you been involved with during high school? Band, cross country, track, FFA, the musical program
What is one academic accomplishment about which you feel particularly good? The academic achievement I am proudest of is my ACT score. I worked really hard to have my score improve from the practice exam and was really happy with how much I improved on the actual test.

Which class or extracurricular activity influenced your decision regarding the career you plan to pursue? The class that influenced my career decision the most was my power and ag mechanics class. This class does not directly relate to what I want to do, but my teacher really taught us to be more open-minded and had a lot of influential speakers come in and talk to our class about picking the right career for us.
What advice do you have for those just starting their high school career? Do your best to stay ahead of things. Try to not let yourself fall behind or get lazy with your school work and not put 100% into it. It is so much harder to try to catch up than it is to stay on time. Don’t be afraid to try new things as well. Take advantage of the time that you have in high school.
What are your plans after high school? I plan to continue my education and my running career at UW-Stout, pursuing a computer science major.
What would you like to be doing 10 years from now? I would like to be working in the computer industry, potentially designing new computer parts or building computer systems, and I still plan to be running.
Teacher recommendation: "Kory goes above and beyond to showcase his academic talent while being an inclusive leader on the track, in the classroom and in work settings. With careful precision, he gives 100% effort to every task asked of him and, with a welcoming smile, he is always ready to greet those around him. This all occurs while he balances his professional, academic, athletic and personal goals while still making time to give back to those around him and always do the right thing." — Jamie Propson, agriculture teacher
