The United States Postal Service, the United Parcel Service and Amazon said they had delays following all the shopping. While the sheer number played a factor, our poor weather didn’t help either.
One of the biggest postal operations in the metro, located on First Street South in Minneapolis, did have some delays but said a big reason for that is to ensure safety for their delivery drivers.
“We’ve had instances where it’s just not a safe circumstance to be on the road,” Sarah Schultz, Minneapolis’s Customer Relations Coordinator for the USPS, said.
“We’ll be going crazy all through December, delivering as much as we can, as quickly as we can,” Schultz added.
USPS, UPS, and Amazon all said they’ve adjusted and are back on schedule with deliveries.
Despite that, Schultz still urges people to get their deliveries in as soon as they can.
