Governor congratulates himself on computer education initiative - Arkansas Times

Gov. Asa Hutchinson and his Education Department announced today publication of a report on the computer education push he began five years ago.

In the governor’s own word: “Amazing.” Also: “National leader.”

Read it here. Said the governor in a release:

This report highlights how my office, educational and other governmental state agencies, schools, teachers, industry partners, and many others across the state have come together to place Arkansas as a national leader in computer science,” Hutchinson said. “What Arkansas has been able to accomplish over the past five years is amazing, and I am excited to read it in print; however, I am equally excited to see that this report starts to address what must come next.

A quick and non-comprehensive Google search turned up this report that found Arkansas 36th-ranked as the best place to get a programming job. This is based on number of jobs, pay, concentration of jobs and cost of living.
