Man accused of attempted sex assault, computer charge - Washington Times

NASHUA, N.H. (AP) - A New Hampshire man has been accused of traveling to meet a person he thought was teenage boy for sex, police in Nashua said.

Robert Gagne, 46, of Manchester, was arrested Friday on charges of attempted felonious sexual assault and certain uses of computer services prohibited. His arraignment was Monday and his case was assigned to the public defender’s office. A message seeking comment was left Tuesday.

Police in Nashua accuse Gagne of having sexually explicit communications online for several months with a police detective he thought was a 15-year-old boy.

The conversations “turned very sexual in nature, very graphic in nature, from what the individual wanted to do to the undercover detective,” said Sgt. Charles MacGregor, WMUR-TV reported.

A meeting in Nashua was set up. Prosecutors said the detective asked Gagne to bring a certain type of candy bar to the meeting. Gagne had that candy bar in his possession when police pulled him over, police said.

Gagne is on probation after pleading guilty to reckless conduct for shooting a gun into the air in Manchester in 2018.
